SALARY:

 

$20.00 - $22.75 per hour. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

Primary Purpose

The Library and Print Assistant provides support to the RVU Frank Ritchel Ames Memorial Library and the RVU Print Center by delivering exceptional customer service and assisting faculty, staff, and students with library services and resources, self-service printing, and Print Center orders. This role contributes to the mission of Rocky Vista University and operates primarily within the library space, under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Library Services and the Print Center Manager.

Essential Job Functions

  • Monitor library entrance and public areas to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all patrons.
  • Administer and oversee library circulation for the Southern Utah site.
  • Answer basic reference and policy questions to help patrons understand library policies and find the resources they need.
  • Keep the library's appearance organized and tidy for student use.
  • Check items in and out of collection, and process new acquisitions to ensure they are ready for use.
  • Assist with minor collection development tasks to ensure that the library’s collection meet the needs of the community
  • Maintain the order and cleanliness of the library’s physical collection.
  • Partner with library colleagues to develop and execute library programs, events, or displays.
  • Restock learning materials and supplies as needed to ensure that resources are always available to patrons.
  • Compile statistics and present reports relating to the usage of library materials and spaces.
  • Maintain self-serve printers on the Utah Campus, placing service calls when needed and ensuring printers and print stations are stocked with supplies.
  • Onboard and assist students with the utilization of self-serve printers, including print set-up, printing, scanning, copying, faxing, and troubleshooting errors.
  • Communicate with the Print Center and assist as needed with print order submissions, deliveries, and customer service.
  • Assist Print Center in submitting print orders and the distribution of completed print orders. Create and manage processes for completing print order pickups, including communication with students and coordination with other departments.
  • Coordinate shipments to the Print Center.
  • Organize and replenish inventory items for frequently ordered print products.
  • Identify or create new print products for the Print Center.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent organizational skills – ability to come up with processes, document them, and follow up.
  • Strong communicative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and problem-solve.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
  • Intermediate level of computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Ability to use discretion and work with confidential files.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team-based, diverse environment.
  • Demonstrate effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and follow-through.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate professional demeanor.
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs. with or without an accommodation.
  • Ability to stand for long hours and complete repetitive tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Some College from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Print Production, Communications, or Marketing.
  • MLIS, undergraduate degree, or research background.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a library setting.
