SALARY:

 

$20.00 - $22.75 per hour. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

Primary Purpose

Provide administrative assistance to the Faculty of the Biomedical Sciences department.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist faculty with their planning and execution of curricular activities including labs, lectures, quizzes, and small group activities.
  • Assist faculty with integrating course material into new technologies including the Leaning Management System (LMS).
  • Order and receive supplies for the department, including submission of requisitions.
  • Schedule departmental meetings and other departmental events as assigned.
  • Document department and committee meetings.
  • Assist faculty in organizing work-related travel and reimbursement requests.
  • Maintain calendars for faculty in the department, including scheduling meetings with students.
  • Serve as staff to assigned committees including scheduling, attending, and taking minutes.
  • Collegially greet students, answer phones, and schedule appointments.
  • Performs general office support duties including maintaining electronic and paper files, completing reports, creating correspondence, proofreading, maintaining office equipment, and overall departmental organization.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Vice Chair of Biomedical Science or their designee.

  • Assist administration, faculty, and staff in special projects as necessary.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate well and work effectively and cohesively in a team-based environment.
  • Working level of computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point).
  • Ability to work with high level attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to recognize and solve problems quickly.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of protected data (student grades, etc)
  • Ability to learn new software programs.
  • Demonstrate effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate initiate in carrying out job responsibilities.
  • Ability to keep a clean and well organized working environment.
  • Professional background or experience in education.
  • Knowledge of scientific and medical terminology.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in administrative support position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or other advanced degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products and video conferencing platforms.
