SALARY:

 

$20.00 - $22.30+ per hour, the posted salary range represents the minimum to the midpoint within RVU’s compensation plan. RVU’s full compensation structure provides a minimum to a maximum range.  The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

Primary Purpose

Assist and provide support to the SFS department for document retention, payment collection and front desk customer service.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist Counselors on all campuses in completion of student files and collection/scanning of documents for financial aid awarding.
  • Answer departmental phone calls/emails and forward when applicable to team members.
  • Provide basic information about tuition and fees, refunds, student health insurance and financial aid to students.
  • Collect cash, check and run credit card payments from students, as well as, accurately record payments received according to University policy and procedure.
  • Document retention and scanning.
  • Assist Student Financial Services with projects, reports and correspondence.
  • Assist with scholarship processing: internal and external scholarships.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or his/her designee.

Marginal Job Functions

  • Assist administration, faculty and staff with special projects as needed.
  • Supply ordering for the department.
  • Work cooperatively with others and accept direction from other supervisors.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Using tact, discretion, initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines.
  • Communicating clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with high level of confidential material with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and problem solve independently.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
  • Demonstrate effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in intermediate level of computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to accurately receive and record financial transactions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing equality, diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree from an accredited institution
  • At least one (1) year of experience working in a college or university, Financial Aid Office, or with a student loan lender or servicing company.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
  • Professional background or experience in higher education and financial services.
  • Experience with financial aid software.
