Primary Purpose

Participate in teaching pathology at the RVU campus in Billings, Montana.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide education, mentorship, and guidance to all students of the University.
  • Participate in delivery of pathology curriculum.
  • Participate in all methods of curriculum delivery including, but not limited to, video presentations, live in-person and virtual teaching, labs, small groups, and simulation activities.
  • Maintain discipline expertise through continuing professional education.
  • Participate in curriculum development, delivery, assessment, and modification.
  • Participate in the assessment and evaluation of students, provide feedback and remedial assistance to ensure that the students of the COM meet the standards established by the faculty and college and obtain the knowledge, skills and competency established.
  • Demonstrate the highest standard of professionalism and ethical behavior in all aspects of professional actions and performance. Know and model the RVU Core Values in all aspects of work on and off campus.
  • Demonstrate and model an ongoing ability to work cooperatively with colleagues, supervisors, support staff, and students.
  • Help build a culture that respects, values, and promotes diversity within an atmosphere of access, equity, and inclusion.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrate knowledge and skill in the delivery of graduate and medical education.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skill in the area of studied expertise as well ability to deliver pathology content related to body systems appropriate for the level of learner.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of content delivery via varied curriculum templates.
  • Demonstrate ability to mentor and motivate students and peers
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing equality, diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Terminal degree (PharmD, PhD, DO, MD) from an accredited institution and current Board Certification, if applicable.
  • Experience in teaching and mentoring medical students.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of academic experience as an instructor/faculty member at a college of health sciences or three (3) years of academic experience as a full-time faculty member in an institution of higher education at the graduate level.
