The posted salary range represents the minimum to the midpoint within RVU’s compensation plan.   RVU’s full compensation structure provides a minimum to a maximum range.  The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

Primary Purpose

Provides administrative support to the Military Medicine program Director, Military Medicine Education Faculty and the program students on Utah and primarily Colorado campuses. Maintain program matries, coordinates program administrative activities, projects and other activities directly related to the Military Medicine Program

Essential Job Functions

  1. Point of contact for students, staff & faculty related to military education and research programs, primarly on the Colorado campus and secondarly the Utah campus.
  2. Provide administrative support to the Director and Military Medicine Education faculty.
  3. Coordinate all aspects of Military Medicine program administrative activities and events.
  4. Assist the Director and Military Medicine Education faculty member in developing, promoting and coordinating community based educational opportunities and events for military students by interfacing with leaders in the civilian and military community.
  5. Assist the Director and Military Medicine Education faculty in maintain the military curriculum, schedule military presenters, and coordinate student projects. Ensure department compliance with university policies and procedures.
  6. Support the recruitment of RVU students to the HPSP scholarship program and military recruiters to ensure student compliance with HPSP requirements.
  7. Implementation and coordination support of Military related clinical activities.
  8. Assist HPSP students in military Residency applications and codify military residency match results.
  9. Coordinate with the Marketing Department on public relations development and dissemination of informational material to support community programs and increase awareness of the RVU Military community.
  10. Ensure meetings and activities are being coordinated with military program student clubs, alumni and other organizations.
  11. Schedule and attend program meetings and prepare minutes.
  12. Coordinate transportation and hotel needs for students, faculty and guests related to Military program events.
  13. Maintain databases as related to the Military medicine program and related research.
  14. Maintain Military Medicine program financial data, analyze, and prepare expense reports.
  15. Coordinate acquisition and maintenance of supplies with appropriate partners.
  16. Coordinate maintenance and distribution of simulation equipment.
  17. Other duties as assigned by the Department Director and RVU leadership.

Marginal Job Functions

  1. Necessary travel to support the RVU military origran
  2. Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  2. Highly efficient data entry and computer skills including Microsoft apps.
  3. Ability to work with sensitive and confidential material
  4. Strong attention to detail.
  5. Ability to coordinating multiple projects simultaneously using a strategice and analytical approach.
  6. Good time management skills and the ability to meet short deadlines.
  7. Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, team-based environment.
  8. Knowledge of military structure, administration and mission.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. A minimum of 3 years administrative assistant or 2 years as a coordinator experience and/or equivalent training.
  2. High school diploma.   

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree or progress towards college degree or technical certification.
  2. 4 years’ experience as an executive administrative assistant.
  3. Strong understanding of the military community.
  4. Operating room or emergency department experience with a knowledge of surgical instruments and supplies.
  5. Familiarization with basic human anatomy.
  6. Experience in medical/casualty simulation.
  7. Event planning coordination experience.
  8. Basic understanding of medical knowledge.
