SALARY AND BENEFITS:

 

The posted salary range represents the minimum to the midpoint within RVU’s compensation plan.   RVU’s full compensation structure provides a minimum to a maximum range.  The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

Primary Purpose

We are looking for an individual with outstanding organizational and communication skills who is a natural team player. Duties essential to this position include the ability to multi-task and problem solve, while maintaining complex calendars, and providing support to the faculty and students. Attention to detail, proficiency with Microsoft Office products, and the ability to meet deadlines are ideal for success in this position.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Assists Chairs/Director(s) of Structural Medicine, OPP & OMM Clerkship, and provides support for all faculty within the Department.
  2. Creates course modules in LMS for OPP and the OMM Clerkship.
    • Organize the schedules within LMS to match the calendar
    • Post lectures, faculty handouts and reading material for all faculty in the department
    • Creates assignments/posts grades for Structural Medicine, OPP, and OMM Clerkship
  3. Assists with scheduling department meetings and arranging travel.
  4. Acts as recording Secretary at meetings scheduled.
  5. Coordinates communication between faculty and adjuncts for availability for labs and competency exams.
  6. Creates and posts lab groups for first and second year students.
    • Post weekly lab assignments for students to view.
  7. Coordinates all exam sessions, exam review sessions, and helps course directors make necessary corrections to test questions.
  8. Provides support to the OPP and Anatomy Fellows.Organizes and prepares lab and practical exam groups for Structural Medicine.
  9. Orders all office supplies for the Department.
  10. Performs general clerical duties, such as answering the phone, maintaining files, completing reports, and performing limited typing or related duties.
    • Properly maintains student personnel files, and observes all confidentiality requirements.
    • Accurately types, proofreads and corrects letters, forms and other Student related documents.
  11. Administers 3rd and 4th year COM students through the OMM Course.
    • Updates quizzes, modules, and PowerPoints
    • Tracks Logs in New Innovations
    • Monitors grades and performance for students.
    • Provides reports to the OPP Clerkship Director and supports the clinical education department for the OMM Sessions.

Marginal Job Functions

  1. Assist administration, faculty, and staff in special projects as needed.
  2. Participate in community and professional outreach activities on behalf of the college and university.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
  2. Demonstrate advanced skill level or higher data entry knowledge and computer skills including Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  3. Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior.
    • Demonstrates eagerness to learn and assume responsibility; seeks out and accepts increased responsibility; displays a "can do" approach to work.
    • Shows persistence and seeks alternatives when obstacles arise; seeks alternative solutions; does things before being asked or forced to by events.
    • Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. High School diploma or equivalent
  2. Four years' previous experience including secretarial/clerical position required.
  3. Ability to learn new software programs

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree
  2. Professional background or experience in academic environment
